. There are several genetically diseases which are not only known in the Maine Coon. The most current are the Hypertrophic CardioMyopathy (HCM), Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD), the Hip-Dysplasia (HD) and the Spinal Muscular Atrphy (SMA). A systematic tracking was set up by some Maine Coon breeders in order to stop the progression. We have found on the web many very interesting sites discussing of these diseases.
