Welcome
to our breeding of Maine Coon.
Actually we live with our male Lafayette, our females
Valentine and Fire, and our two neuter Vador and Seven.
The
direction of our breeding is mainly based on
the choice of our reproducer cats, by introducing into our program some
outcross cats (weak cosanguinity level, foundation and clones), and
with mating of different pedigree thus allowing a dilution of the genes.
In
complement to this work, we make a follow-up of
health for the hereditary diseases by tracking our reproducer cats. A
long term follow-up is essential to select the future reproducers cats
of
our breeding.
We adhered to the "Maine
Coon Test" Association, opened to stockbreeders and also
to pet owners.
Our
reproducer cats are tested :
- HCM by echo
(heart)
- HCM1 DNA :
mutation of MyBPC3 (heart)
- PKD (kidney)
- HD (hips)
- SMA (spinal muscular atrophy)
- PL (patella)
- Fiv, Felv
Our females will have only 1 litter per year and
will be tested by echocardiography before each of them.
The
kittens will grow with cuddles and sociabilised since first day. You
